Christmas Card With Real Bells and MD Lantern

Hello Bloggers,
The sun cannot decide whether it should or should not break through the mist in Amsterdam today :) While it's struggling, I am presenting  a new card. A Christmas card, naturally :)
The sentiment is gesso-stecilled and glittered with some fine golden glitter. I also used some golden wax on the lantern, the candle and the flower. And some snow.
The bells at the upper left corner are real bells. They even ring, well, kind of :)
I added a small punched cross inside the lattern.

Used:
  • Marianne Design LR0190 Creatables Lantern XL

Snow Globe Christmas Card

Hello Bloggers,

Over a month ago I saw these two different things in two different shops: the Yvonne Creations Cozy Christmas embossing folder and the Precious Marieke Spirit of Christmas Snowflake Circle. Somehow, in my instantly inspired imagination they were immediately "glued" to each other. :)

It's only now that I've eventually managed to make a card with them both together:
I like the way this embossing folder creates a whole Christmas village in one go. :)

With lots of different "snows" and gems on it:

Christmas Card with Mirri Window

This card is the Winner @ Scrapping4fun
and
it's a runner up @Cuttlebug Mania
--------------------------------------------------

Hello Bloggers,

A Christmas card today. Naturally :)

With one of my favorite dies - the very old Marianne Design Creatables Lr 0253 Open Book. Used as one piece or cut down into layers, it always turns out good. The Dutch text on the patterned paper reads "Happy New Year" and "Happy Holidays".

The background paper with a wreath comes from Action (a totally cheap chain store in Holland). I did not expect to find anything like that there, but... there we are. It's not worse than some expensive stuff :)

I like the effect the silver mirri board creates as the window. It picks up the light nicely and makes the whole scene more vivid. I think :)

Here is a closer look at the detail:

Used:
  • Marianne Design Creatables Lr 0253 Open Book
  • Marianne Design Creatables Lr0243  Candles
  • Marianne Design LR0435 Creatable - Petra's Poinsettia
  • Marianne Design LR0438 Creatables - Petra's Larix
  • Joy!Crafts 6003/0050 Vintage Flourises Holly

  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0402 Mery’s Stencil - Basic Round x4
  • Yvonne Creations YCD10053 Traditional Christmas Die Snowy Tree
  • Nellies Choice Ild005 Interlace Border Die - Christmas Holly

Challenges:
  1. Scr@p-Cards Challenge-Blog: Challenge # 91 - Kerst
  2. ABC Christmas Challenge: X is for Criss Cross (the twine and/or the garland)
  3. As You Like It Challenge: Favourite Gold or Silver (and why) - the mirri board used for the window creates dimention and light; another silver that I use a lot is for the candle light.

Snow or brown leaves? Christmas Card.

Hello Bloggers,

A Christmas card today. Lots of Christmans challenges are up right now offering us tons of inspiration from their design teams.

For me, all my inspiration, as usual, ended up in a pile on one card :)

This is sort of a "wish vs. reality" card - the snowflakes are the wish, but in reality, so far, we have brown leaves covering the ground. It's still a month to go, though. The weather may surprise us :)

Hello Bloggers,
Christmas in July is the Theme for so many challenges this month! So here I am with a purple card :)

Father's Day Card

Hello Bloggers,

Father's Day is next week, so a card for a man today. Does this combination of colors and elements look masculine enough?
Fluffy flowers and pearls are not always exactly the things to put on a man's card, so this time I decided to go architectural. Well, sort of... :) This is a big card - an A4 folded in halves. I added several embossed and padded layers and elements to create some volume.

Birthday Card With Funny Birds

Hello Bloggers,

A birthday card today.

I made it for my daughter with the paper that she had seen before and found the birds so funny. Aren't they adorable? :)
I tried to keep as much of the bird paper visible as possible. Thus the thin frame and the random thin strip. But I could not help myself - the corner is full of flowers :)
The big roses are punched, the other flowers are roll-ups from different brands.

The Happy Birthday sentiment has actually 2 layers - the dark green under the orange is offset a bit to create some tiny thin outline.

Oh yes, almost forgot - the edges are punched with the Martha Stewart Cherish punch. I folded the card stock and then punched through 2 layers. Martha Stewart punches are among those few who can do that and stay alive. :)

Used:
  • Martha Stewart punch around cherish
  • 5-petal punch for the big roses
  • Presscut Cutting And Embossing Stencils - Happy Birthday 1 PCD02

Bright Red Birthday Card with MD Tassels

Hello Bloggers,

Today's card is in really bright colors.

I don't know... I found this red patterned paper in my stash the other day and I just loved it. Again obviously, because the first time I liked it was when I bought it. :)
The tassels are hanging on paper "threads". I had tried real threads of several kinds, but somehow all of them looked awkward here. So I just used my trusted guillotine to produce a thin strip of paper, added some beads and voilà.

Splendid Swirls And Leane Flowers. Spring Birthday Card.

Hello Bloggers,

Here is my spring colored card today with lots of flowers, embossing and swirls. It's a birthday card for an old lady from Russia. The sentiment is in Russian and it says Happy Birthday. I don't have any Cyrillic letters, so I had to hand write it with a glue pen and use some glitter.
What makes a card almost totally unsendable? The spiral swirls of course! They are even more unsendable than fluffy flowers. So, in my wisdom I used the swirls from the Sue Wilson's Splendid Swirls CED1427 set anyway just because I liked them on the card so much and later spent a lot of time trying to fit them into the envelope in such a way that they stay intact. Quite successfully though! :)
This card is very big - it's a full A4 folded in halves. With all the layers and flowers, it turned out to be too heavy for a regular two-stamp letter, so I had to cheat a bit by creating the visibility of layers out of two sheets only. The outer green frame is literally a 1.5 cm wide frame, the middle cut-out part was embossed separately and used as the main green background. The white sheet in between them is not complete either. A non-crafter will never know :)

Used:
  • Die'Sire Embossalicious Embossing Folder Tumbling Leaves - A4 [EF4-TMBL]
  • Marianne Design Lr0248 Creatable Tiny`S Flowers 1
  • Craft Dies by Sue Wilson - Finishing Touches Collection - Delicate Fronds CED1426
