Birthday Card With Clay Butterflies

Hello Bloggers,

A pinky card today. I got this DecoTime paper pad at Action the other day... a 1010th paper pad in my collection, but I could  not help it anyway - just loved the colors... Happens to me way too often. Luckily, Action is usually easy on your wallet :)

So... I made this card, and it turned out so tenderly pinky that my inner extreme multi-color guardian got upset, so I droppped a couple of very yellow butterflies onto the card. And some beads. And pearls. And some other shiny  stuff...  :)
Sequins, glitter...
The butterflies are actually made of Creall Do&Dry Lightweight modelling material using some Mod Podge Molds and colored later with Stabilo pens.

Very Floral Birthday Card

Hello Bloggers,

Yet another extremely colorful birthday card today :) Lots of flowers!

The big flower is The Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Country Cottage Metal Die - Classic Carnations, then there is a whole bunch of roll-ups _and_ my new favorites - Joy!Crafts Vintage Flourishes 6003/0066 Flower 5 Leaf. I just love the roses they make!
The patterned papers I used have a touch of some glitter on the printed flowers but it is a bit tricky to catch it on camera.
The edges are shaped with the Martha Stewart Crafts - Punch Around The Page Set - Cherish. I love MS punches. They are strong enough to punch through a double layer of thick cardstock quite neatly.

Used:
  • Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Country Cottage Metal Die - Classic Carnations SD-PPMD-CARN

Birthday Card for a Girl

Hello Bloggers,

a pinky card today, made for the birthday of my daughter's friend. I found this striped patterned paper sheet in one of my extremely pink paper pads the other day, and that's the design it ended up in. :)

Traditionally, I could not help adding a brighter spot to the general pastels, thus the fluffy orange cord. :)
The lace-looking Joy!Crafts 6002/0316 Border Edge die-cuts are layered to create more volume. The sentiment has three layers, a bit offset.
The flowers are handmade using several 5-petal punches, I used my dear Nellie Snellen Floral Punch Sets to cut and emboss the leaves.

Used:
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0478 Doily Round
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0368 - Rose Corner
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0316 Border Edge

Silver Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello Bloggers,

I made this card for a friend of mine, who has obviously been happily married for over 25 years now :)

25 years married!!!!! Grown up kids! But between ourselves we still call each other "girl" :)

Well, anyways, lots of silver on this card. :) Featuring the embossed and silver-gilded with Inka-Gold silver wax frame and the shiny mirri board numbers, embossed with the Fleur-de-lis pattern.

I could not help adding at least one bright flower to it.
Here is some detail from a different angle: beads, sequins, some tulle ribbon, pearls etc.
And the flowers, of course :) All handmade. This time I did not use any dies for the flowers, just punches.

Used:
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0302 Border 3
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0540 Background With Holes
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0542 Border With Holes

Mixed Media Birthday Card

This card has been picked as a DT Favourite @Crafty Girlz Challenges!

-------------------------------------
Hello Bloggers,

My mixed media experiment today :)

The background is created by gesso-glueing some kitchen foil scraps onto cardstock, and watercoloring the whole thing. I was surprised it actually held together :)

I used some Creall Do&Dry modelling material and Mod Podge molds to create the butterfly and the decorative square element above the sentiment. Originally, they recommend hot glue with the molds, but having tried both, I was a lot happier with the results I got with the modelling paste.

The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed.

The MD die-cut frame is gilded with DecoArt Metallic Lustre, it makes the embossing on the frame a bit more prominent.
The flowers are all handmade. Composed of Joy!Crafts 6002/0158 Floral Flourishes Bloem 3 and Joy! Crafts Vintage Flourishes 6003/0066 Flower 5 Leaf petals.
Completed with pearls, tiny pompoms and other random stuff on it :)

Used:
  • Creall Do&Dry Lightweight modelling material. Air-drying.
  • Mod Podge Mod Molds
  • DecoArt Metallic Lustre - Champagne Ice
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0158 Floral Flourishes Bloem 3
  • Joy! Crafts Vintage Flourishes 6003/0066 Flower 5 Leaf
  • My Favorite Things Die-namics Layered Leaves (MFT-399)

  • Precious Marieke - PM10060 - Flowery - Flowery Branch

Harry Potter Fan Film

Hello Bloggers,

Something totally unrelated to cards today :)

I found this Harry Potter fan film online the other day - Severus Snape and the Marauders. It's SO good! If you have any Harry Potter fans in the family - let them watch it. It's 25 minutes of the day well spent!

Valentine Card with Shaker Frame

Hello Bloggers,

A Valentine card today. It is my guest designer contribution to Challenge #83 - Friends, Love, Wedding or Valentine @ Scrapping4funChallenges. I am honored and very grateful to the Ladies there for a chance to have my card displayed next to the professional DT works!
So. I used a bunch of old dies, that you all probably recognize :)

The oval shaker pocket was created with the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool and then framed with the Couture Creations Royal Oval die cut. Two of those actually, to keep it all in place :)

I used my dear Nellie Snellen Floral Punches of several sizes for the leaves. The big flower is a Joy!Crafts 6002/0158 die-cut of some interesting soft paper that I found in Euroland the other day. They suggest that it should be used for crafting by very young children. Don't know about the children, but I found the texture of this paper very special. :)

Dreams Come True Card

This card is one of the Featured Creations @Scrapping4funChallenges.

----------------
Hello Bloggers,

Yet another card in eye-poking colors today :) The sentiment is sweet, though - Dreams Come True. Indeed.

I received quite some new dies as Christmas gifts this season, and couldn't wait to put them all onto one card. Almost managed  :)

I eventually got the Die-namics Stitched Fishtail banners that I had been wanting for a long time. Happy! :) And the Die-namics Layered Leaves! I had seen similar leaves used by lots of Polish card makers, but they use Prima Marketing leaves that are not easily available here, so I found something even better :)
A couple of new Joy! dies, too. I like the radome detail dies Joy! has come up with recently. The 'net' in the corner is one of them.

The paper is ancient though :) A Kioshi Paper Pad. 2009. Some of it was used then, the remainder has been buried under the newer pads for years, and now rediscovered in all its glory. Made me feel nostalgic - the quality of this paper is SO good! They don't sell this stuff in Action for sure.

Used:
  • My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX (MFT-602)
  • My Favorite Things Die-namics Layered Leaves (MFT-399)
  • Joy! Crafts 6002/0598 Raster Round
  • Joy! Crafts 6002/0595 Flower Round
  • Joy!Crafts 6002/0478 Doily Round

  • Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 7PK - Stitched Rectangles #661189
  • Precious Marieke - PM10060 - Flowery - Flowery Branch

Challenges:
  1. Crafty Gals Corner: Challenge #104 ~ Use Something New (new dies)
