March 8th Card with "Cyrillic" Letters
This card made it to the Top 3 @
Hello Bloggers,
An 8th of March card today. There are places on Earth where the international Women's Day is actually celebrated! :) Russia is one of them, so this card is for a Russian friend.
I do not have any stamps or dies with Russian letters, so I had to improvise. Luckily, the Russian word March only contains letters that also exist in the Latin alphabet. The smaller 'm' is actually a 't'. I believe. I hope she can read this! :)
I used the Cheery Lynn Designs Sophia's Heart Doily, which is a very tricky die. It is big and the middle never gets cut through properly. I used an A4 cutting machine with an A4 and an A5 plates to be able to rotate the huge round die and cut it by halves.
The paper cameos are Nellie Snellen's punches. They come as sets of two - one to punch out the oval shape and the other one to emboss it.
Used:
- Cheery Lynn Designs - Sophia's Heart Doily

This is a stunning card! I love the embossed cameos, that could surely pass for the real things! And how clever to give those sales tag tassels another life on your lovely card! I agree, that is a very intricate doily die cut! Thank you so much for sharing your card with us at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog (and for letting us know how you took your trash and made it into treasure)!
ReplyDeleteLove all the fabulous layers on your card. They give it such wonderful texture. The daffodils are a breath of spring even if spring is still a way off. Kudos for hanging on to the tassels. They are a fun addition to your great card. Thanks for joining us at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog.

A wonderful spring card and how lovely that you went to the trouble of using the Cyrillic script. I love that you saved and used those tassles which match the card so well. We never know where these little embellishments might come from. Thank you for joining us at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog x
